Say what you mean and mean what you say.

I believe many people often say things (cliches) and they truly don't mean it. Have you ever run into an old friend and once you get through speaking with him/her they next thing you hear is "I'll call you." Now, I don't really know how often men do this but I know a lot of women tend to do this and I don't know why. My rule of thumb is, if you really were concerned with me and my well-being, you would have kept in touch with me.

Wouldn't it by nice if people actually meant what they said? Aah, only in a perfect world.
